With The European Green Deal And The Objective Of Becoming Climate Neutral By 2050, Renewable Energy Sources Have A Critical Role To Play In Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions And Ensuring Energy Security. The Energy Sector Is Responsible For Over 75% Of Total Eu Greenhouse Gas Emissions, So Speeding Up The Production Of Energy From Renewable Sources Is Vital To Fulfil The European Climate Law Target Of At Least A 55% Reduction In Emissions By 2030. The Russian Military Aggression In Ukraine In 2022 And Breaking Eu Dependence On Imported Fossil Fuels Has Added Further Impetus To The Urgency Of These Efforts
