The Prevalence Survey Covers The Following Forms Of Interpersonal Violence Mentioned In The Istanbul Convention: Psychological Violence (Including Economic Violence) Within Couples, Sexualized Violence, Physical Violence And Stalking. According To The Istanbul Convention, The Term “Gender-Based Violence” Refers To Any Violence Against A Woman Because Of Her Gender Or Affecting Women Disproportionately. The Swiss Prevalence Survey Also Includes The Same Forms Of Violence Against Men. The Survey Measures The Presence, Frequency And Consequences Of Violence Since Adolescence. The Questions Relate To The Type Of Violence And Who Committed The Violence, As Well As The Use And Knowledge Of Support And Assistance Services For Victims. The Prevalence Survey Is Linked To The Eu Statistical Survey On Gender-Based Violence Against Women And Other Forms Of Inter-Personal Violence (Eu-Gbv) And Is Therefore Coordinated At European Level. To Achieve The Above-Mentioned Objectives, Approximately 56,000 People Aged 18 To 74, Both Men And Women, Receive An Invitation Letter With The Aim That 28,000 People Respond Through Cawi (Computer Assisted Web Interviewing) And Cati ( Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing). The Net Size Of 28,000 People Is Determined A Priori. The Online Survey Is Preferred, But The People Sampled Can Also, Depending On Their Preferences, Call The Agent At Any Time To Do The Interview By Telephone. The Prevalence Survey, Given The Sensitivity Of The Theme Covered, Has Increased Needs In Relation To Research Ethics And Data Protection.
