The Council Are Seeking To Appoint A Suitably Licensed And Experience Contractor To A Contingency Disposal Contract To Provide Reassurance That In The Case Of Interruption Of Operation Of The Energy From Waste Plant That The Kerbside Collections Of Residual Waste Across The City Will Not Be Affected. Downtime Of The Plant Could Include Planned Outage Maintenance, As There Are Plans To Undertake Work On The Plant In The Next 12/18 Months Which Could Affect Availability Of The Facility, But Also Due To The Age Of The Plant Unplanned Downtime Cannot Be Ruled Out And The Council Needs An Effective Back Up Plan For Continued Disposal In Such Circumstances.The Successful Contractor Shall Be Required To Collect And Transport The Waste To The Provider’S (Or A 3Rd Party Provider) Facility For Disposal.The Council Cannot Commit To Any Tonnages But Details Of Current Waste Volumes Will Be Included Within The Tender Document.This Will Initially Be A 2 Year Contract With The Option Of Extending For A Further 1 Year Period, With An Anticipated Contract Start Date Of 12Th February 2025.The Estimated Annual Value Is £150,000 , However, There Is No Guarantee Of This Level Of Business, With A Total Estimated Contract Value Of £600,000 Over A 3 Year Period (If Needed).
