Maria Middelares Is A Non-Profit Organization That Consists Of Two Hospitals, Az Maria Middelares Ghent & Az Sint Vincentius Deinze, And Two Medical Centers (In Gentbrugge And Aalter). Since January 2024, The Hospital Has Started Developing A New Logistics And Facility Platform In Nazareth. A Master Plan Has Been Developed For This Logistics Platform That Should Accommodate Various Care Support Services In The Existing Buildings. These Services Can Be Centralized And At The Same Time Free Up Space In Hospitals For Healthcare Functions. A Total Of Three (3) Departments Will Come Together On The Site In Nazareth: • Central Warehouse Management (Sterile & Non-Sterile Goods) • Pharmacy Distribution • Central Sterilization The Platform Will Therefore Have To Collect Different Materials And Send Them Out Correctly To The Correct External Sites. It Goes Without Saying That This Logistics Platform Will Become A Complex Environment That Must Be Managed Correctly. To Reinforce Centralization, We Are Looking At Introducing Automation Components In Different Environments. For Example, The Distribution Pharmacy Will Be Equipped With Repackaging Robots And Pharmacy Pick Robots. The Central Warehouse Will (Unless Otherwise Decided), In Addition To A Classic Pallet Environment, Be Equipped With An Automatic Bin System With Conveying And Sorting Functionality. To Guarantee The Quality Of Care, Maria Middelares Decided That A Warehouse Management System Will Be Necessary.
