Planning Environment And Hydrology For The Abs/Nbs Fulda Gerstungen The Fulda–Gerstungen Rail Project For The Upgraded Line/New Line (Abs/Nbs) Will Be An Important Part Of Deutsche Bahn’S Long-Distance Network In The Future. Together With The Expansion/New Construction Of The Frankfurt–Fulda Line, The Project Aims To Provide Additional Capacity And Reduce Journey Times On The Frankfurt Corridor -Fulda-Erfurt-Berlin. This Also Creates An Optimal Connection To The Erfurt Hub, Which Forms A Central Hub In The German Long-Distance Network With The Commissioning Of The Munich-Berlin High-Speed Connection. The Preferred Variant Threads Out Above Ground At Langeschwarz From The Hanover – Würzburg High-Speed Line. It Then Crosses The Schwarzbach Valley And Then Dives Into A Tunnel To The South Of Bad Hersfeld. The Line Reappears Near Unterhaun, Crosses The Existing Line 3600 Fulda Bebra And Runs Parallel To The Existing Line Through Bad Hersfeld Station. The New Line Then Turns To The East And Runs Through Another Long Tunnel Area To Ronshausen, Where It Merges With The Existing Line 6340.
