The Hot Water Basins Of Each Cooling Tower And The Surrounding Casings Are Leaking And They Need To Be Replaced, Including Lids, Nozzles, Baffles, Connecting Pipe Gaskets, Hardware, Nuts And Bolts. Piping Supports Should Also Be Replaced As The Lack Of Support Is Putting An Added Stress On The Basin Connections. Because Of Those Deficiencies, Excessive Spray Of Water Droplets Is Occurring Which Is A Great Risk For Legionella Propagation. Also, The Leaking Basins Drip Down Beside The Cooling Towers Which Accelerates The Deterioration Of Exterior Materials That Were Not Protected By A Membrane In The Past. Review Of The Previous Inspection Reports Shall Be Referenced Before Performing Any Repairs. The Recommendations In Previous Reports Suggest That The Use Of Stainless Steel 316, 14 Ga. For The Construction Material Of The Basins And Lids. The Hardware Should Also Be Stainless Steel 316. As Reports Suggest, The Temperature Rating Of The Fills In The Past (2012) Was Not Properly Chosen For The Water Temperature Of A Heat Recovery Plant (High Condensed Water Temperature). The Consultant Shall Perform An In-Depth Investigation To Identify All Cooling Tower Issues. This Project Will Oversee The Replacement Of The Fills With Correct Temperature Ratings And Installation, Repairing The Hot Water Basin Spray System (Nozzles) And All Other Deficiencies. Reports Detailing The Cooling Tower #1 Deficiencies Are Available For Reference. Work Shall Be Done In Shoulder Seasons, When The Load Is At Its Lowest.
