Project: Tender22319 - New Vessel For Creel Angler Surveys At The Lake Ontario Management Unit . The Vendor Shall Sell And Deliver To The Ministry, In Accordance With The Applicable Specifications, Requirements And Details Specified In This Contract, The Following: (I) A Angler Surveying Vessel Meeting The Requirements And Specifications Below (The “Vessel”) Equipped With (Ii) Two Four-Stroke, Counter-Rotating, Fuel Injected Outboard Motors, Each With A Minimum Output Of 115 Horsepower, And A Combined Horsepower Rating That Does Not Exceed The Maximum Horsepower Allowable For The Vessel As Specified On Its Conformity Plates (Collectively, The “Motors”); And (Iii) A Galvanized Bunk Trailer Package (The “Trailer”). Scope Of Work The Minister Of Natural Resources’ Lake Ontario Management Unit Is Responsible For Monitoring, Assessing And Conducting Research On Lake Ontario’S Aquatic Resources To Support Long-Term Sustainability Of The Lake’S Ecosystem. Open-Water Angler Surveys Are An Efficient And Reliable Method Of Collecting Data On Fish Populations And Angler Harvest Levels. Conducting Angler Surveys On Lake Ontario And Its Embayments Requires A Vessel That Meets Strict Safety Criteria In Hull Design To Handle The Variable Weather Conditions Lake Ontario Can Produce. The Vessel Must Be Capable Of Supporting Survey Activities Throughout Both The Nearshore And Offshore Environments Of The Ministry’S Lake Ontario Management Area, From The Niagara River In The West To Lake St Francis In The East.
