Expression of Interest for World Bank Technical Assistance Financing Facility Kosovo Enhancing National Crisis Preparedness Description: The World Bank is implementing a regional technical assistance project in coordination with the European Commissions Directorate General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) under the Technical Assistance Financing Facility (TAFF). TAFF was launched in March 2024 and is funded by the European Commission (EC) Directorate General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) and jointly implemented by the World Bank and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) between 2024 and 2028. TAFF has been set up in 2024 as a single-donor trust fund that includes country-specific and regional analytics/technical assistance activities. The TAFF provides technical assistance to strengthen the capacity of civil protection and other relevant competent authorities under the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) in scaling up investments for disaster and climate resilience. Available to any European Union Member State (EU MS) and participating/associated countries of the UCPM, country-specific Bank-executed technical assistance (TA) programs are selected based on demand and agreed criteria.
