Dam Construction Work – Completion Of Marmara Dam And Associated Works. The Marmara Dam Is Being Constructed In The Prefecture Of Kavala, Approximately 5.5 Km Ne Of Akropotamos And 2.0 Km Ne Of Loutra Elefthera. Of The Municipality Of Pangai. The Reservoir Collects The Flowing Waters Of The Marmaras River. Its Purpose Is To Exploit The Water Resources Of The Rivers Catchment Area, To Enhance The Irrigation Of Crops In The Wider Area. The Construction Of The Marmaras Dam Began In 2008 And Before Its Completion The Project Contract Was Terminated In September 2023. The Individual Technical Works Of Which It Is Composed As Well As Their Construction Stages To Date Are As Follows: • The Main Dam, With The Abutment And The Foundation And Waterproofing Works, (Implementation Of 95% Of The Works). • The Diversion And Evacuation Projects, (Implementation Of 95% Of The Works). • The Overflow And Energy Destruction Projects, (Implementation Of 90% Of The Works). • The Access Road To The Dam, (Implementation Of 95% Of The Works). • The Secondary-Complementary Projects, Required For The Completion Of The Project, (Implementation Of 80% Of The Works). The Contractor Has The Following Obligations: [A] Completion Of The Marmaras Dam And Related Works. [B] Implementation Of The First Filling Of The Reservoir. [C] Monitoring The Behavior Of The Dam Until The Completion Of The First Filling.
