Kg (Akm) Intends To Hold An Open, Anonymous And Single-Phase Implementation Competition For The Urban And Open Space Planning Development Of The Aero-Park 2 And 3 Construction Phases In The Merzbrück Industrial Area At The Würselen-Aachen Research Airfield. The Approximately 61 Hectare Competition Area Is Located South Of The Runway Of The Aachen-Merzbrück Airfield And Is Part Of The Long-Term Development Of An Aviation-Related Commercial Location In The Context Of Structural Change In The Rhenish Area. Due To Its Proximity To Important Research And University Institutions, Including The Rwth Aachen, The Fh Aachen And The Forschungszentrum Jülich, The Location Offers Particular Potential For Innovative, Technology And Research-Oriented Uses. The Aim Of The Competition Is To Develop A Forward-Looking Overall Urban And Open Space Planning Concept For The Expansion Areas Of The Aero Park. We Are Looking For High-Quality And Sustainable Solutions That Meet The Requirements Of A Modern Commercial Area And At The Same Time Ensure High-Quality Functional And Design Integration Into The Existing Location. The Competition Also Serves To Select A Suitable Planning Team From The Fields Of Urban Planning And Open Space Planning For Subsequent Further Processing As Part Of A Procurement Process. The Aim Of The Competition Is To Create A Clear Spatial Structure For The Future Development Of The Site, Which Takes Into Account Both Economic Development Goals And Requirements For Open Space Quality, Mobility And Sustainable Site Development. +++The Competition Process Is Limited To 15 Participating Teams. The 15 Participating Teams Are Determined Exclusively As Part Of An Eu-Wide Application Process Followed By A Lottery. +++The Competition Is Aimed At Applicants Or Groups Of Applicants, Consisting Of Urban Planners And Landscape Architects. Both Disciplines Of Urban Planning And Landscape Architecture Can Be Covered By An Individual Applicant Or By Forming A Group Of Applicants. +++ Legal Entities Are Eligible To Participate If The Statutory Business Purpose Is Aimed At Planning Services That Correspond To The Competition Task.
