The Order Concerns The Supply Of Medals And Decorations For The Benefit Of The Buyer. Maintaining Or Strengthening The International Legal Order, Peace And Security Is Something The Netherlands Makes Special Efforts To Achieve, Including Militarily. Those Who Commit Themselves To This Deserve Special Appreciation And Recognition, Which Can Be Achieved, Among Other Things, By Awarding An Award. At The Ministry Of Defense, The Awards Represent Tangible Recognition And Appreciation From The Government And For That Reason Alone They Are An Important Instrument Of Personnel Care. The Importance Of This Is Increasingly Recognized As The Years Go By. We Must Not Forget That The Soldiers Deployed Today Are The Veterans Of Tomorrow. Awards Also Often Have A Very Personal Meaning For The Recipient: The Effort That Is Appreciated With An Award And The Circumstances Under Which It Took Place Are Often Such That There Can Only Be A Symbolic Form Of Recognition. An Award Can Then Express This Very Appropriately And Tangibly. Awards Play An Important Role, Especially At Commemorations And Reunions, Because Veterans Also Recognize Each Other By Their Buttonhole Decorations Or Wearing Pins. This Way You Can Generally See Who Else Is A Veteran Or You Can Recognize By The Color Of The Ribbon Or By A Certain Pin The Comrades Who Took Part In The Same Operations. Finally, In Military Society, The Visible Wearing Of A Decoration Has Traditionally Had A Stimulating Effect. It Is A Good Military Tradition To Also Show That One Has Worked Honorably For The Kingdom And Fatherland (In The Past) Or On Behalf Of The Dutch Government For The Restoration Or Promotion Of The International Legal Order (Nowadays). They Are, So To Speak, Setting A Good Example That Deserves To Be Followed. Most Decorations Such As Badges, Medals, Ribbons, Bows, Miniatures And Other Handout Decorations Are Made Of A Machined Metal With Or Without Colored Ribbon. A Decoration Can Be Permanently Attached To The Garment Or Removable, For Example By Means Of A Pin Closure, Screw Pin Or Pin Closure.
