Tenders Are Invited For Dado Panel Asbestos Removal in United Kingdom

This Asbestos Removal Scope Has Been Prepared To Facilitate The Removal Of Asbestos Insulating Board Backed Dado Panels From The Walls Of The North And South Tubes Of Kingsway Tunnel. There Are Approx. 8,100 Asbestos Insulating Board Backed Dado Panels (Total), Equating To Circa 7,433 Linear Metres And A Total Area Of Approx. 15,237 M². Each Panel Weighs Approximately 61 Kg, Giving A Total Approximate Weight Of 498,248 Kg, Equating To Circa 498 Tonnes. All Dado Panels To Be Removed Have A Unique Identifying Number. Redundant Electrical Cabling Is Present Behind The Panels And Will Also Require Removal. Following Panel Removal, All Exposed Surfaces Behind The Panels Are To Be Thoroughly Cleaned. There Are 4 Cables Running The Length Of The Tunnel In Each Lane. There Are 2 Lanes In Each Tube Equating To Approx. 38Km Of Cable. Note Some Cabling Has Already Been Removed. The Scope Of Works Includes: - Removal Of The Asbestos Insulating Board Backed Dado Panels From The Walls Of The Two Tubes Of Kingsway Tunnel Approximately 8,100, - Removal Of Redundant Equipment And Cabling, Located To The Rear Of The Dado Panels. Cables Are Aluminium. (See Section 4.1-Notes-13.), - Removal Of Dust And Debris To Surfaces Adjacent To And Behind The Dado Panels, - Sealing/Encapsulation Of The Caulking To The Expansion Joints Which Are Asbestos Containing. Note: Exposed Expansion Joints Are Only Expected To Be Present To Exposed Cast Iron Sections On The Liverpool End And Are Not Present Throughout. (See Section 4.1-Notes-18.). The Client Is Responsible For Providing Any Evidence The Cable And Equipment Is Redundant And Prior To Removals (The Contractor Should Ensure These Are In Place Prior To Commencing Works). The Contractor Shall Be Responsible For The Programming Of These Confirmations And If Any Additional Isolations Are Required Should Advise The Client A Minimum 4 Weeks’ Notice Prior To Requiring The Isolations.
