The event is expected to convene approximately 150 to 200 participants representing GIZ, Political Partner, implementing partners, key stakeholders and beneficiaries. Context Lebanon has faced severe and prolonged economic, financial and social challenges, further compounded by periods of instability and conflict. These circumstances have affected livelihoods, businesses, agricultural production, local economies and social cohesion. Against this backdrop, the Strengthening Agriculture, local Communities and small and medium Enterprises (ACE) project has worked, over five years, to strengthen economic stabilisation and social cohesion through targeted measures supporting cooperation, exchange and capacity development in three interconnected areas of action: Agriculture: supporting farmers and agricultural actors to strengthen their capacities, organise through agricultural associations, respond to market needs and apply improved agricultural practices. Small and medium enterprises: supporting MSMEs and entrepreneurs through financial and capacity-building measures, promoting income opportunities, entrepreneurial action and the strengthening of value chains. Local communities and social cohesion: supporting joint planning and implementation of community initiatives involving civil society and local governments, aimed at strengthening positive intergroup experiences and confidence in local capacities to act. After five years of implementation, ACE is approaching its formal closure.
