Tenders are invited for Refurbishment & Upgrading of the Mambo Wastewater Treatment Plant The Works comprise the assessment, investigation, design, rehabilitation, upgrading, construction, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and performance testing of the Mambo Wastewater Treatment Plant and associated wastewater infrastructure. The existing Mambo Wastewater Treatment Plant has a nominal treatment capacity of approximately 15 ML/day. The objective of the Project is to rehabilitate the existing plant and integrate additional treatment infrastructure to provide a reliable overall treatment capacity of 30 ML/day. Effluent quality shall be BOS 93:2012 standard. The Works shall include, but shall not be limited to: i. Rehabilitation and refurbishment of the existing 15 ML/day treatment facilities. ii. Construction of additional treatment facilities to provide the additional 15 ML/day capacity. iii. Integration of the existing and new facilities into a single 30 ML/day treatment system. iv. Upgrading of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, telemetry and SCADA systems. v. Upgrading of sludge handling, thickening, digestion and biogas facilities. vi. Upgrading of disinfection facilities. vii. Rehabilitation of the associated twenty-eight (28) wastewater pumping stations. viii. Rehabilitation and remedial works to the wastewater collection and outfall systems. ix. Design, Construction and commissioning of associated pumping and transmission infrastructure for the Francistown Wastewater pond system. x. Rehabilitation of the Francistown Wastewater pond system. xi. Provision of standby power, Access control & monitoring security system, lighting, Fire detection system, roads, buildings and other supporting infrastructure. xii. Design, supply & installation of SCADA, Telemetry, Automation and Control System as an integrated system covering the Mambo Wastewater Treatment Plant and all twentyeight (28) wastewater pumping stations, with provision for centralised monitoring and control, automated process control, remote alarm notification, historical data storage, trending, reporting and future expansion. The Contractor shall be responsible for the complete end-to-end system, including all field instrumentation, PLCs/RTUs, control panels, communication networks, software, servers, operator workstations, cybersecurity, UPS/backup power, configuration, integration, testing, commissioning, training and handover documentation xiii. Effluent Water Quality Effluent shall comply with BOS 93: 2012 standard for discharge of effluent into watercourses A non-refundable amount of P10 000.00 is payable to Water Utilities Corporation; payments should be made on the website. Youth (18 35) owned Companies shall pay half price. Bidders are to process payment on the website. A compulsory site visit meeting with representatives of the Procuring Entity will take place at Mambo Wastewater Treatment Plant in Francistown on the 24 and 25 September 2026 starting at 09:00 hrs. Bidders must arrive on or before 09:00 hrs and attend the site visit on both days. Drive straight and turn right at Kazungula Marang road junction. Drive straight until you reach the end of the tarred road. Mambo plant will be on the left.
