Quotation are invited for Structural Repairs at Rbay Airport. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Roof Repairs and Structural maintenance at Richards Bay Airport for the City of UMhlathuze Project Objective The purpose of this Request for Quotation (RFQ) is to appoint a qualified contractor to undertake Roof Repairs and general building maintenance. All work shall be carried out in accordance with applicable building regulations, occupational health and safety requirements, and the satisfaction of the Employer/Project Manager. Scope of Work 1. Preliminary and General The contractor shall: Provide all supervision, labour, plant, equipment, tools and transport required to complete the works. Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and legislation. Protect existing finishes and adjacent property during construction. Remove all waste generated during the works and dispose of it at an approved disposal facility. Clean the work areas daily and upon completion. Allow for all incidental materials required to complete the works. 2. Alterations The contractor shall: Ceiling Repairs Scrape and remove all loose and damaged concrete ceiling paint. Prepare the surface by cleaning, sanding and filling where required. Make good all damaged areas before repainting. Approximate ceiling area: 2 m². Door Hardware Remove the damaged lockset from the existing double entrance door. Supply and install a new heavy-duty double glass door lockset complete with all accessories. Ensure proper alignment and operation of the doors. Safe Removal Remove the existing safe. Repair and make good the surrounding walls and floor to match existing finishes. 3. External Maintenance The contractor shall: Gutters and Downpipes Clean all gutters and downpipes. Remove debris and unblock all rainwater outlets. Test to ensure free flow of rainwater. Entrance Pavement Remove uneven or damaged paving at the main entrance. Prepare the base. Supply and install replacement paving to match the existing where possible. Ensure a safe, level walking surface. Investigate the source of roof leaks. Carry out all necessary sealing works. Test for water tightness before practical completion. Roof Waterproofing Prepare roof surface. Apply rubber waterproof roof seal to identified leaking areas. Ensure complete waterproofing of repaired sections. A new screed should be installed to create the correct slope and direct water efficiently towards the drainage points Remove existing ABE torch-on waterproofing membrane and install new Signage Remove damaged sign hanging chain. Supply and install new galvanized stainless steel sign chain. Ensure signage is securely fixed. 4. New Works Painting Prepare all surfaces in accordance with the paint manufacturers specifications. Apply: Two coats of quality interior ceiling paint to repair ceiling surfaces. Match the existing colour and finish.
