This Notice Of Intent (Noi) Is To Inform You That The University Of British Columbia (“Ubc” Or The “University”) Intends To Enter Into A Purchase Agreement With Cohere Inc. (“Cohere”) For The Acquisition Of An Enterprise Artificial Intelligence (“Ai”) Platform Supporting Data Sovereignty, Private Deployment, Enterprise Governance, And Institutional Ai Use Cases. Based On Its Assessment Of Currently Known Solutions, Ubc Considers Cohere To Be The Best-Known Source Capable Of Meeting The University’S Requirements In Combination, Including Requirements For Customer-Controlled Deployment, Protection Of Sensitive Data And Intellectual Property, Enterprise Ai Functionality, Governance And Administrative Controls, Integration With Institutional Systems And Data Sources, And Architectural Flexibility. The Proposed Deployment Model Enables Ubc To Maintain Control Over Its Institutional Data And Supports The University’S Broader Data Sovereignty Goals. The Proposed Acquisition Is Sponsored By The Ubc Information Technology Department.
