The end user had conducted an exercise to assess the adequacy of the existing system with respect to Health, Safety, Environment, and availability in the market from the suppliers. The exercise revealed that the system is inadequate and recommended to be replaced with an alternative system (Liquid Chlorination System) which has more advantages compared to the existing gas chlorination system. As a result, and based on the above exercise recommendation outcome, the end user initiated this project for implementation. 2.,,Project Objective The objective of the chlorination package EPIC project is to replace the existing gas chlorine injection system with liquid Sodium Hypochlorite dosing system, including all equipment, piping, controls, and safety systems required to ensure reliable and efficient supply of Sodium Hypochlorite to both old and new STPs. This project aims to enhance the disinfection process, ensure compliance with environmental and public health standards, and support the operational sustainability of wastewater treatment infrastructure across the designated service area. 3.,,project scope The project scope includes engineering, procurement, installation, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, performance testing, and start-up of the system of a new liquid Chlorination system using Sodium Hypochlorite, Na OCl (10%-15%) solution in compliance with latest Qatar Energy corporate philosophies and standards related to the chemical handling, Fire and Safety, IFE/QCD Guidelines and Mo ECC requirement in handling hazardous chemicals and requirements, and in Sodium Hypochlorite Safety Data sheet.
