Sep 2026 Intervention Sector(s): Agriculture Remuneration range: 5000 to 6000 (USD) Duration of Contract: 3 months BACKGROUND: Mada is seeking a qualified Trainer to deliver a fodder production training to livestock breeders and farmers under the project entitled Strengthening the Resilience of Vulnerable Women, Young Adults, and Men in Lebanon through Livelihood Improvement and Increased Food Security funded by the German Cooperation (BMZ) and implemented by Mada Association in partnership with arche nova. The project supports the transition to agroecology and improves access to food by strengthening the resilience of vulnerable women, young adults and men in Lebanon by improving livelihoods and increasing food security. The project aims to build more resilient, economically stable, and food secure communities in the project regions by addressing livelihood and food security challenges through a comprehensive approach. Under this project, Mada has already developed a comprehensive fodder production curriculum for livestock breeders in Akkar, structured around 5 core content sections: (1) introduction to fodder production, (2) selection and cultivation of fodder crops, (3) fodder harvesting, preservation and storage, (4) fodder quality assessment and nutritional management, and (5) sustainability and economic efficiency in fodder production. Mada is now seeking a Trainer to deliver this training to 50 livestock breeders and farmers, who may be divided into groups across up to 5 villages divided between Akkars coastal and highland regions. Each group will be of 10 participants receiving 5 training sessions. The specific content and emphasis of these 5 sessions per group will be selected and compiled by the Trainer from within the existing curriculum, based on the findings of a needs assessment/survey to be conducted by the Trainer with the selected breeders in each group prior to training. The mission is expected to be participatory, incorporating direct input from breeders through the needs assessment, in close coordination with Mada. Objective of the mission: To compile with Madas technical team, and adapt content from Madas existing fodder production curriculum into 5 tailored training sessions per group; and to deliver these sessions to livestock breeders and farmers across up to 5 village groups in Akkars coastal and highland regions. Main tasks and Responsibilities: The selected trainer will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Organize and conduct an induction meeting with Madas technical team within one week of the contract start date, to review the existing curriculum, the needs-assessment tool, the village groupings, and expectations. 2. Deliver the 5 training sessions to each group of livestock breeders and farmers up to 5 village groups across Akkars coastal and highland regions (up to 25 sessions in total) using interactive and participatory methods appropriate for farmers, including women and youth. Each training session should not exceed 3 hours. 3. Prepare a pre- and post-training tests for each session/group to measure learning outcomes. 4. Coordinate effectively with Madas team throughout the mission. 5. Submit a training report summarizing needs-assessment findings, sessions delivered per group, attendance, and pre-/post-test results. Final deliverables: Delivery of 5 training sessions to each of up to 5 village groups (up to 25 sessions in total), reaching a total of 50 livestock breeders and farmers. Pre- and post-test results per session/group. Final training report summarizing attendance, key needs-assessment findings, and learning outcomes. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in veterinary science, animal production, agriculture or a related field. Previous experience delivering trainings to farmers and/or livestock breeders, preferably on fodder production and animal nutrition for cattle and small ruminants Strong knowledge of fodder production, animal nutrition, and farming challenges in Akkar, Lebanon. Previous experience in delivering trainings and/or conducting field visits with farmers on agroecological practices is a plus. Good communication and facilitation skills, with a focus on interactive and inclusive approaches suited to adult farmer learners, including women and youth. Experience working with diverse rural communities, including women and youth farmers. Fluency in Arabic; working knowledge of English is an asset. Availability to travel to and deliver sessions across village locations in Akkar, in both coastal and highland areas.
