Construction Work – 1100 Flood Protection And Revitalization Sienebach, Kriens. The “Flood Protection And Revitalization Of Sienebach” Project In Kriens Pursues The Overarching Goal Of Ensuring Flood Safety For The Settlement Area Up To A 100-Year Event (Hq100) And At The Same Time Significantly Improving The Ecological Value Of The Stream Area Through Disclosure And Renaturation. The Focus Of The Structural Measures Is On The Approximately 130 Meter Long Section Between Eichenspestrasse And Obernauerstrasse. At The Upper End Of The Perimeter, The Existing Debris Collector Will Be Enlarged To A Retention Volume Of Around 100 M³, With A New Rake Made Of Steel Profiles With A Clear Width Of 25 Cm Ensuring The Retention Of Debris And Driftwood. Immediately Below This Collector, The Old Dole Under Eichenspesstrasse Will Be Replaced By A Much More Powerful Rectangular Culvert Measuring 1.80 By 1.00 Meters. In Order To Promote Ecological Longitudinal Continuity, Small Animal Banquettes Are Integrated Into This Structure On Both Sides. After Leaving The Culvert, The Stream Overcomes The Existing Height Difference Of 2.4 Meters Via A 12 Meter Long Dissolved Block Ramp With A Basin Structure Through Which The Energy Is Dissipated. An Essential Element Of The Design Is The Disclosure Of The Previously Indented Sections, Whereby The Channel Within The Body Of Water Takes On A Natural, Slightly Meandering Course. In The Lower Area, Near The Feldmühle Schoolhouse, A Pond Landscape Is Created. The Modeling Of The Ponds Including Sealing Is Not Part Of This Order. A New Pedestrian Bridge Will Also Replace The Existing Old Crossings In The Project Area. As Part Of The Earthworks, Extensive Pipeline Adjustments Will Be Made To Create Space For The New Culvert And Terrain Modeling. While The Majority Of This Material Is Classified As Uncontaminated, The Slightly Lead-Contaminated Topsoil On Plot 733 Must Be Treated Separately Or Recycled At Suitable Locations.
