Expression of Interest for Development and Production of Farmers Maize Learning Kit PRO Seed Ltd currently operates across four core areas to accelerate food security and agricultural self- reliance: Maize Hybrid Seed Production; Commercial Maize Grain Farming; Tractor Hire & Mechanization; and Industrial Milling & Value Addition. To support these operations and improve farmer productivity, PRO Seed Ltd requires effective extension services that strengthen farmers knowledge and adoption of recommended maize production practices. 1. Rationale Many farmers have limited literacy or limited capacity to read and comprehend written agricultural extension information in English. Conventional extension materials written primarily in English can therefore fall short of achieving effective knowledge transfer among rural farmers in South Sudan. PRO Seed Ltd, therefore seeks to develop and produce visual learning kits using clear pictorial impressions or drawings supported by short messages in English and relevant local languages. The materials should enable farmers to visually interpret, understand and translate recommended practices into action. In addition, PRO Seed Ltd, intends to produce an artistic video demonstrating maize production practices from land selection through to storage. 2. Assignment / Task PRO Seed Ltd, is seeking to contract an experienced individual or company to develop and produce agricultural extension information in pictorial and visual formats covering maize grain production practices from land selection to storage. The pictorial and visual materials should accurately depict the intended recommended practices and be designed for easy comprehension by farmers with limited literacy. Short written messages and the accompanying video audio should be available in English and relevant local languages. The pictorial learning kits should be produced in a durable format suitable for distribution to individual farmers. The video should be easily transferable and suitable for use on smartphones. 3.
