Tenders Are Invited For Metering Instruments – Supply, Installation And Commissioning Of A Nuclear Germanium Detection System For The Low Activity Determination Of Various Radioactive Substances In An Aqueous Sample
Metering Instruments – Supply, Installation And Commissioning Of A Nuclear Germanium Detection System For The Low Activity Determination Of Various Radioactive Substances In An Aqueous Sample. Uz Leuven Campus Gasthuisberg Will Provide 10 Rooms For Radionuclide Therapy For Therapies With The Radioactive Substances Lu-177, Ac-225, Ra-223 And Ra-224, Of Which 4 Rooms Will Be Specifically Designed So That They Are Also Suitable For Iodine Therapies (I-131 Therapy). Approximately 150 L/Day Of Waste Water Is Generated Per Room, Mainly From The Shower, Sink And Toilet. For A 10-Bed Therapy Department, This Means Approximately 1,500 L/Day Of Wastewater Accumulation. With High Occupancy And A Lot Of Shower Water, This Volume Can Increase To 1,700 L/Day In Limited Periods Of 2 Weeks. The Wastewater Is Treated In A Wastewater Treatment Plant Provided For This Purpose, Which Is Located In The Technical Rooms On The Two Floors Below The Patient Rooms. After Treatment, The Wastewater Will Only Contain Low Quantities Of Radioactive Substances In The Order Of Magnitude Of Bq/L To Kbq/L. The Sample Analyzed With The Germanium Detection System Comes From This Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Assignment Consists Of The Following Aspects: 1. The Delivery, Installation And Commissioning On Site Of The Measuring System With Radioactivity Determination (Bq/L) By A Germanium Detector So That It Can Be Tested Against The Legal Discharge Limits (Order Of Magnitude Of Minimum Detectable Activity In The 10 To 1000 Bq/L Range). 2. The Supply, Installation And Commissioning Of The Associated Software System To Carry Out Radionuclide Identification And Activity Determination In Bq/L As Well As Reporting. 3. Maintenance And Periodic Calibration 4. Training More Information Can Be Found In The Appendices. Appendix 6 - Inventory Appendix 7 - Maintenance Sheet
