Background Adyan Foundation, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is implementing the Youth Leadership Programme (YLP) Tripoli Peace Initiative, which aims to strengthen youth leadership, social cohesion and meaningful youth participation in community development and peacebuilding. Following Phase 1 training and the Youth Challenge & Selection Bootcamp, approximately 60 young people will progress to an incubation phase and work in about 15 youth-led teams to develop community initiatives that respond to identified needs and priorities in Tripoli. The incubation phase will support youth to move from learning to practical application and develop realistic, relevant, conflict-sensitive and actionable initiatives for presentation at the YLP Pitching Event. 2. Purpose of the Assignment Adyan Foundation is seeking experienced Mentors/Coaches to provide practical technical and developmental support to youth teams during the incubation phase. Mentors/Coaches will help teams to: refine their community problem, target group and proposed solution. strengthen team collaboration, roles, shared ownership and decision-making. identify relevant stakeholders, partners and community resources. integrate conflict sensitivity, inclusion, gender and social cohesion considerations. assess feasibility, risks, resources and preliminary budget requirements. consider local priorities and, where relevant, opportunities for complementarity with the Stability and Local Development Plans (SLDPs); and prepare a coherent initiative and pitch for the YLP Pitching Event. Mentors/Coaches will facilitate youth ownership and will not develop, manage or implement initiatives on behalf of participants. 3. Key Responsibilities Provide structured mentoring and coaching to assigned youth teams. Review initiative concepts and provide practical, constructive feedback. Support teams to translate ideas into focused and feasible initiatives. Coach teams on collaboration, role clarification, inclusive leadership and constructive decision-making. Guide teams in stakeholder and community analysis and engagement. Support integration of conflict sensitivity, inclusion and social cohesion into initiative design. Support basic activity planning, resource identification, budgeting and risk analysis. Help teams consider sustainability, partnerships and opportunities for continuation or replication. Support teams to prepare for the YLP Pitching Event, including practice and feedback. Share concise qualitative observations and technical support needs with the Youth Leadership Consultant. Participate in agreed coordination and reflection meetings. Maintain confidentiality and comply with Adyan Foundation safeguarding, PSEA and Code of Conduct requirements. 4. Expected Deliverables Initial review of assigned teams, including key strengths, development needs and mentoring priorities. Delivery of agreed mentoring and coaching sessions. Constructive technical feedback on the development of each assigned teams initiative. Final pitch-readiness support. Brief final mentoring summary highlighting common challenges, emerging learning and recommendations for future incubation support. Deliverables should remain concise and developmental and should not constitute a separate monitoring or evaluation exercises. 5. Required Qualifications and Experience Education University degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Education, Business/Entrepreneurship, Management, Public Policy, Peacebuilding, Community Development or a related field. Professional Experience Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience. Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching or supporting youth. Experience supporting youth-led, community-based or social initiatives. Experience in project/initiative design and stakeholder engagement. Experience using participatory and youth-centered approaches. Understanding conflict sensitivity and social cohesion. Experience working with civil society, community organizations or development programmes in Lebanon. Experience working in Tripoli or other fragile/conflict-affected contexts is an asset. Good working knowledge of English is preferred. 6. Duration and Level of Effort The assignment will take place during Phase 3 of the YLP and is expected to last approximately two months. Adyan Foundation will determine the final number of Mentors/Coaches and team allocation based on the final number and composition of youth teams and the level of support required. The assignment may combine in-person mentoring in Tripoli and remote follow-up. The detailed number and frequency of mentoring sessions will be agreed with Adyan Foundation. 7. Supervision and Reporting Mentors/Coaches will report directly to the Youth Leadership Consultant (YLC), who will provide the overall technical direction and guidance for the incubation and mentoring process. Mentors/Coaches will provide agreed updates on team development, emerging challenges and technical support needs; participate in coordination and reflection meetings led by the YLC; and contribute to qualitative learning from the incubation process. The Mentors/Coaches will remain responsible for direct mentoring and coaching of assigned teams. They will not assume responsibility for programme management, implementation or formal monitoring and evaluation. Operational and administrative matters will be coordinated with the designated Adyan Foundation focal point, as applicable. 8. Financial Proposal Applicants should submit a financial proposal in USD, clearly indicating the proposed professional fee, expected number of working days/sessions and any applicable professional costs. The proposed fee should include applicable professional costs and taxes unless otherwise specified by Adyan Foundation. 9.
