The project aims to contribute to conflict prevention and peacebuilding in Lebanon through youth mobilization, by empowering youth and strengthening their role as active agents of change in their communities. Its primary outcome is to increase the individual and collective capacities and participation of Youth-Led Civil Society Organizations and Groups in conflict prevention and resolutions initiatives to foster inter and intra-communal peace in Greater Beirut and Tripoli, Lebanon. In line with the projects objective to enhance the effectiveness, sustainability, and overall impact of local CSOs, Jafra and Mada Association are looking focus on strengthening the institutional frameworks and technical competencies of local CSOs operating in Lebanon. The aim of the mission is to deliver comprehensive, pre-developed training sessions, aimed at strengthening the institutional capacities of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The training will focus on the following key area: Cross-Cutting Themes Enhancing CSOs capacity to integrate and operationalize key cross-cutting themesinclusion, gender equality, environmental sustainability, human rights-based approaches (HRBA), and project sustainabilityacross all stages of the project cycle. This training will equip participants with tools and frameworks to ensure that programs are inclusive, rights-based, environmentally responsible, and designed for long-term impact. Key areas of focus include: Designing and adapting programs for the inclusion of marginalized and diverse groups (e.g., youth, women, refugees, persons with disabilities, minorities) Applying a Human Rights-Based Approach to programming and organizational policies Mainstreaming environmental sustainability into project design and operations (e.g., procurement, construction, natural resource use) Developing project sustainability and exit strategies to ensure continued impact Establishing internal systems and roles for tracking and integrating cross-cutting priorities (e.g., focal points, monitoring indicators) Using data (e.g., disaggregated results, environmental KPIs) to inform program design and learning The training will be conducted over two sessions, delivered twicespanning four days (2 days dedicated for each group). Each session will consist of 6 hours. The program is scheduled to begin on October in Beirut and in Tripoli. Main Tasks and Responsibilities: Meet with Madas and/or Jafras teams to discuss the missions objectives and expectations. Deliver the 4 training sessions to assigned groups (each session up to 6 hours) including the main tasks below: Review participating CSOs current strategies, policies, and practices related to inclusion, gender equality, environmental sustainability, HRBA, and project sustainability. Design a training agenda covering the key areas of focus: Inclusion of marginalized and diverse groups (youth, women, refugees, persons with disabilities, minorities) Applying a Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA) in programming and organizational policies Mainstreaming environmental sustainability in project design and operations Developing sustainability and exit strategies for lasting impact Establishing internal systems and roles for tracking cross-cutting priorities Using data (e.g., disaggregated results, environmental KPIs) to inform program design and learning Prepare training resources such as: Inclusion and gender mainstreaming checklists HRBA programming guides Environmental sustainability action plans and procurement guidelines Exit strategy templates Monitoring indicator frameworks for cross-cutting themes Tailor materials to reflect both international standards and local context. Encourage peer-to-peer learning and collaborative problem-solving among CSO participants to foster long-term capacity retention. Conduct coaching sessions (group-based) to support the practical application of concepts learned during the training. Customize training content and materials to be contextually relevant and aligned with the local operating environment, legal frameworks, and resource levels of participating CSOs. Monitor engagement and progress of participants throughout the training using pre- and post-training assessments and participatory feedback tools. Document outcomes, key learnings, and areas for further support, and submit a final training report including recommendations for future capacity building. The language used in the training sessions must be simple, clear and culturally relevant, avoiding technical and complex content, to ensure it is easily understandable by CSO members. Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Environmental Studies, Human Rights, or a related field. A Masters degree is an asset. Proven experience in delivering training on one or more cross-cutting themes, such as gender inclusion, environmental mainstreaming, HRBA, or project sustainability, preferably in CSO or NGO contexts. Strong understanding of how to integrate cross-cutting priorities into the project cycle (design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and learning). Demonstrated experience working with or designing programs for diverse and marginalized groups (e.g., youth, women, persons with disabilities, minorities, refugees). Familiarity with tools for gender analysis, environmental impact assessment, stakeholder mapping, and rights-based programming. Experience supporting organizations in developing inclusive strategies, sustainability plans, and institutional roles (e.g., focal points) to address cross-cutting issues. Excellent facilitation and communication skills with the ability to engage a diverse audience and foster reflective learning. Fluency in Arabic and English is required. Experience in MEAL systems that track cross-cutting indicators and feedback loops is highly desirable.
