Description: Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) intends to addressing the water security challenge by executing a strategic large-scale storage of potable water in natural aquifers, which could be used as an emergency supply in the event of a disruption in the desalination water-supply infrastructure. The aim of this project is to execute the Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) of desalinated water for potable use in the northern part of Qatar through which the ultimate objective will be achieved by means of providing an emergency supply of drinking water of 325 MGPD for a duration of 90 days and the seasonal storage of 180 to 400 Mm.
