Background The Government of the Republic of Burundi has received a grant from the African Development Bank Group and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to finance the Integrated Burundi-Rwanda Development Project (BRIDEP). Part of the proceeds of this grant will be used to finance contracts for consulting firms or groupings of consulting firms responsible for carrying out technical feasibility studies, supervision and control of: i) The extension works of the Veterinary Laboratory (LaboVet), including the establishment of a vaccine production unit for poultry and pigs; and ii) The construction of a plant seed conditioning unit and the construction of a shelter for a coldstorage room at ISABU. 2. Scope of Services The services under this contract include the preparation of technical feasibility studies (APS, APD, EIES and Bidding Documents), as well as supervision and control of: Extension works of the Veterinary Laboratory (LaboVet), including the establishment of a vaccine production unit for poultry and pigs; Construction of a plant seed conditioning unit; and Construction of a shelter for a cold-storage room at ISABU. The services are divided into two (2) separate lots: The estimated duration of the assignment for the technical feasibility study phase is 90 working days. For the supervision and control phase, the estimated duration is: Lot 1: 9 months Lot 2: 7 months 3. Invitation to Consultants The Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Livestock, through the Integrated Burundi-Rwanda Development Project (BRIDEP) Burundi Component, invites consulting firms to submit their applications to provide the services described above.
