Research Services – Intervention Study Into The Effectiveness Of Preventive Measures For Reducing Exposure Via Indoor Dust. The Aim Of This Assignment Is To Conduct An Intervention Study Into The Effectiveness Of Existing Preventive Measures To Reduce Exposure To Pfas And Heavy Metals (Minimum Lead And Cadmium) Via Indoor Dust In Approximately 100 Flemish Families With Young Children (0-6 Years). The Focus Is On The Wet Cleaning Measure, But Possible Additional Measures Or Combinations Of Measures Can Also Be Investigated. The Study Should Provide Insight Into: • The Effectiveness Of Preventive Measures For Reducing Concentrations Of Pfas And Heavy Metals In Indoor Dust; • The Circumstances Under Which These Measures Are Most Effective; • The Influence Of The Frequency, Quality And Consistency Of Application Of The Measures; • The Possibilities For Refinement Of Existing Health Advice For Citizens. In Addition, The Assignment Aims To Strengthen The Knowledge Base On Indoor Dust By: • Developing Reference Values ​​For Concentrations Of Pfas And Heavy Metals In Indoor Dust; • Further Substantiation Of A Uniform And Reproducible Sampling Methodology (Deposited Dust) For Indoor Dust Compared To Outdoor Dust. The Contractor Is Responsible For The Preparation, Implementation, Analysis, Interpretation And Reporting Of The Study. The Assignment Includes: • Project Coordination; • Development Of A Research Protocol And Study Design; • Creation Of Questionnaires And Procedures For Participants • Development Of An Intervention Strategy; • Recruitment Of Participants; • Implementation Of The Sampling Campaign; • Laboratory Analyses; • Statistical Analysis And Scientific Interpretation; • Development Of Reference Values ​​For The Measurement Results; • Further Substantiation Of A Uniform And Reproducible Sampling Methodology For Indoor Dust; • Feedback Of The Results And Support With Communication; • Final Reporting And Transfer Of The Research Data. The Results Of The Study Should Support The Department Of Healthcare In Further Scientific Substantiation Of Health Advice, Communication And Policy Decisions Regarding Exposure To Chemicals Via Indoor Dust.
