Expression of Interest for CivicShield AI Program. Closing Date: Monday, 24. Aug 2026 Intervention Sector(s): Training & Capacity Building Across Lebanon, frontline civil society organizations (CSOs) regularly handle deeply sensitive beneficiary data, ranging from the identities of displaced persons and records of human rights abuse victims to sensitive legal claims. In this high-risk operational landscape, a single cloud storage or email breach can instantly compromise this information, putting vulnerable citizens and activists at immediate risk. Furthermore, while emerging tech offers new opportunities, uploading raw, unredacted field data into commercial AI tools like standard ChatGPT violates privacy standards and exposes sensitive organizational data to third-party training pipelines. To bridge this critical gap, CivicShield AI program was developed and built specifically for Lebanese civil society. It automatically detects and redacts Personal Identifier Information (PII), including names, phone numbers, locations, and government IDs across both Arabic and English text, while simultaneously scrubbing facial features and hidden metadata from field photos and videos, ensuring frontline teams can safely navigate digital spaces without endangering the communities they serve.
