Tenders Are Invited For Scalable Production Capacity Of Personal Protective Equipment in Netherlands The

Although It Is Not Possible To Remove All Vulnerabilities In The Chain, The Ministry Of Health, Welfare And Sport, But Also At The Request Of The House Of Representatives Of The States General, Wants To Focus On Reducing Certain Vulnerabilities By Investing In Quickly Scalable Production Capacity Of Some Personal Protective Equipment (Ppe) In The Netherlands And Creating An Emergency Stock. Rapidly Scalable Production In The Netherlands Offers The Dutch Government The Opportunity To Influence This In The Event Of A (Health) Crisis. If It Turns Out That Extra Supply Of Products Is Necessary During A Crisis, It Is Important That Producers Can Quickly Scale Up Their Production And Ensure Distribution To The Dutch Healthcare System. In Addition, To Ensure Quality And Maintain Ce Certification, Production From Standstill Is Not Possible. After All, The Machines Must Be Used Regularly And The Staff Must Be Sufficiently Skilled And Trained To Be Able To Run Production. There Is A Chance That Borders Will Close During A Crisis Or That There Will Be Disrupted Supply Chains And Logistics Problems At An International Level. It Is Therefore Important That Production Takes Place In The Netherlands. The Ministry Of Health, Welfare And Sport Wishes To Secure A (Scalable) Production Facility In The Netherlands For Ppe For Five Plots, Namely: • Plot 1: Face Masks Type Iir; • Lot 2: Mouth Masks Type Ffp2; • Lot 3: Nitrile Gloves; • Lot 4: Protective Coats; And • Lot 5: Face Shields, Including The Supply Of The Necessary Raw Materials, So That They Are Constructed And Available In Sufficient Quantities. To Bridge The Time Needed To Scale Up Production At The Start Of A Crisis, The Assignment Also Includes Creating And Managing A Minimum First-Expired First-Out Stock. The Goal Is To Be Able To Produce At Least Fifty Percent Of The Peak Consumption In Dutch Healthcare For One Year: • Plot 1 (Face Masks Type Iir): 48,000,000; • Lot 2 (Face Masks Type Ffp2): 3,600,000; • Lot 3 (Nitrile Gloves): 100,000,000; • Lot 4 (Protective Jackets): To Be Determined; • Lot 5 (Face Shields): To Be Determined.
