Aug 2026 Intervention Sector(s): Food & Nutrition, Labor & Livelihoods Remuneration range: 2000 to 3000 (USD) Duration of Contract: Six Months Background The project Strengthening the resilience of vulnerable women, young adults, and men in Lebanon by improving their livelihoods and increasing food security, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aims to enhance food security and resilience through the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices, empowerment of women and youth, and improved water resource management. The project is implemented by a consortium led by arche nova, with Mada Association covering Akkar and North Lebanon, and Johanniter Unfallhilfe e.V. (JUH) covering Bekaa, South Lebanon, and Beirut/Mount Lebanon. Within the project farmework, the training on water management aims to strengthen the capacity of smallholder farmers in North Lebanon and Akkar by equipping them with skills in efficient water management, sustainable farming practices, and practical application of drip irrigation systems. Objective arche nova seeks a qualified trainer to deliver comprehensive water management training with a focus on drip irrigation systems. The trainer is expected to provide full-day training sessions for farmers, combining theoretical and practical knowledge on water management and drip irrigation systems. The training shall be tailored to local agricultural contexts, to enhance productivity and resilience against climate challenges. Target Areas and Training Details North Lebanon - Donnieh Area (2 sessions), North Lebanon - Koura Area (2 sessions), Akkar Area (1 session), For the Venues: arche nova will identify and book the venues for all sessions. To note that the number of sessions can be increased and decreased, following the coordination with arche nova technical team. Training Structure Each training shall consist of: Theoretical understandings: Covering water and soil management, irrigation techniques and new technologies in irrigation. Practical understandings: with Hands-on application of drip irrigation techniques, calculations, new accessories application, etc. Working groups: to ensure individuals applications and knowledge sharing between participants. Other suggestions made by the trainer to bolster the impact of the training. Trainers Responsibilities 1. Training Materials Development Create comprehensive training materials (presentation) in Arabic (with English translations when deem necessary). Cover theoretical and practical topics specified in the training content highlighted above, as well as the working groups modality. Provide a list of all the needed stationery, tools or accessories that might be required during the training (arche nova will negotiate the possibility of providing them with the trainer). Develop pre/post-tests for the training to be included in the final report. 2. Training Sessions Delivery The trainer shall conduct one full-day training for each group, up to 5 training sessions (number of sessions can increase or decrease based on the total number of beneficiaries and their location, in coordination with arche nova technical team) in different locations in North Lebanon and/or Akkar as detailed above. Each training shall take between 4 to 5 hours maximum, with around 45 minutes of break (lunch/refreshment breaks and cigarette breaks). 3. Monitoring and Evaluation Conduct pre- and post-training tests to assess participant knowledge and progress. Maintain attendance records and report any issues to arche nova. 4. Final Reporting Submit a detailed report including: Training outcomes and progress of participants. Challenges faced and lessons learned. Recommendations for future trainings and/or assistance.
