Tenders are invited for Food Processing Consultant - Akkar Main Purpose: Food processing training for 15 Lebanese and Syrian women from four villages in Akkar coastal area (Semmakiyeh, Tal Hayat, Tal Abbas and Qobbet Chomra) facing challenges related to the market and producing mouneh of vegetables value chain.This activity is essential for sustainable agriculture, family income stability, and rural development. The aim of the project is to create new income opportunities, reduce dependency on external technicians, and lower maintenance costs.All theoretical and practical training sessions must be completed before August 30th, 2026.A. Training DeliveryConduct a training program containing 7 theoretical and practical sessions for 15 women on food processing techniques, including, but not limited to, the following main topics and sub topics:Introduction to Food Processing Importance of food processing and value addition Benefits of reducing post-harvest losses Food processing opportunities in rural communities Market demand and consumer preferences Food Hygiene and Safety Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Personal hygiene requirements Prevention of food contamination Cleaning and sanitation procedures Food Quality Control Quality standards for processed foods Raw material selection Shelf-life concepts Product quality assessment Vegetable Processing Pickles production Paste production (Ketchup, tomato, pepper, ...) Jam production (Tomato and eggplants,...) Traditional Lebanese Products Makdous preparation Molasses production (carob, grape, pomegranate, ) Herbal products Distillation (Rose water, blossom water, oregano...) Food Preservation Techniques Drying (Jute mellow, okra, eggplants, tomato, ...) Curriculum & Tool Development Develop and deliver seven training sessions for food processing tailored to non-conventional skills for women. Prepare training materials and all required resources for the practical sessions (raw materials and ingredients to be covered by the consultant), visual aids, and simple guidance in clear and accessible language (Arabic). Prepare a detailed BoQ for the basic food processing kits to be distributed as in-kind grants to participants. The BoQ should include the essential equipment, tools, and materials required for food processing activities, with detailed specifications, quantities, and prioritization of items based on participants needs and the project objectives. The selection of items will be based on the available budget and in coordination with the project requirements. The consultant will also be a member of the Bid Analysis Committee and will contribute to the technical evaluation and selection process. Prepare two technical reports, one midterm report including participants progress and key recommendations in English and one as a final report. C. Community Engagement & CoordinationCoordinate with field teams (scheduling, practical and theoretical sessions) to ensure smooth implementation.D. Safety, Protection & Compliance Ensure all training sessions, especially the practical activities comply with full safety standards Promote environmentally friendly and safe gardening practices. Follow organizational procedures, safeguarding standards, and donor requirements. Closing Date: Monday, 27.
