The Châtelard I Power Plant Is Located In The Village Of Le Châtelard In The Municipality Of Finhaut In The Canton Of Valais And Was Built Between 1919 And 1923. In 1972 The Power Plant Was Expanded To Include The Châtelard Ii Plant. The Power Plant Is Primarily Used To Supply Traction Power (16.7 Hz) To Western Switzerland And The Simplon Line.
