Expression of Interest for Supply of a System to Perform Particle Number Counting and Particle Number Size Distribution Sub- Micrometer Measurements The JRCs European Reference Laboratory for Air Pollution is mandated by the Air Quality Directive 2024/2881 to carry out quality assurance programmes with the Member States air Quality laboratories. Particle Number Counting (PNC) and Particle Number Size Distribution (PNSD) are two of the new air pollutants introduced by the Directive. In this frame a prior assessment and a further reference implementation for such variables requires to buy a Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer and an additional Condensation Particle Counter. SMPS is an instrument needed to measure Aerosol particle size number distribution (PNSD). CPC is an instrument needed to measure Aerosol particle number counting (PNC).
