Substation Construction Work – 110/6Kv Substation Refurbishment Works. Currently, The International Scientific Community Faces A Shortage Of Suitable Experimental Facilities, Necessary For Conducting Specific Experiments Both In Terms Of Advanced Aspects Of Lfr Technology, And For Testing And Characterizing Prototype Components And Systems In Order To Qualify Them, Mandatory Steps In The Licensing Process Of The Alfred Demonstration Reactor. In This Context, It Was Necessary To Define A Research Infrastructure At European Level, Capable Of Meeting These Requirements. Thus, The Helena 2, Elf, Hands-On And Meltinpot Facilities Proposed In The 4Alfred Project Were Designed Based On A Detailed Analysis Of The Needs And Unresolved Issues In The Field Of Lfr. This Infrastructure Has Been Designed By Clearly Establishing The Purpose, Objectives, Scope And Technical Characteristics, To Provide High Flexibility In Addressing And Solving Both The Current Challenges Identified And New Aspects That May Arise In The Evolution Of Lfr Technology. The Electricity Supply Of The Building That Serves Helena 2 And Elf, With All Related Experimental Facilities, Will Be Carried Out From The Existing 110/6 Kv Transformer Station On The Raten Icn Platform, In The Perspective Of Increasing Its Power Up To An Installed Power Of Approximately 16.5 Mw, In Order To Ensure The Electrical Power Necessary For The Operation Of The Facilities And The Realization Of The Experimental Campaigns And The Research And Development Activities Proposed To Be Carried Out Within The Project 4 Alfred. Thus, The Connection Of New Large Consumers, Such As The 4Alfred Experimental Facilities, Requires The Adaptation Of The 110/6Kv Substation Capacity To Ensure Compatibility With Additional Power Flows And To Prevent Congestion. In Addition, Equipment Operated Close To Design Limits Leads To Increased Technical Losses, Voltage Variations And Deterioration Of Power Quality Parameters. The Expansion Of The Capacity Allows The Optimization Of The Operating Regime. In Addition, The Implementation Of Advanced Monitoring, Protection And Control Technologies Implies Changes To The Stations Architecture, The Capacity Increase Being, In This Case, An Integrated Component Of The Retrofitting Process.
