Due To Increasing Heavy Rain Events, There Is An Increased Deepening Of The Bed Of The Zeller Ache, Which Has Resulted In The Existing Fiber Optic Pipeline Being Washed Away And The Natural Stone Bank Protection Being Scoured Out. The Lwl Has Already Been Secured As Part Of An Immediate Measure. In Order To Sustainably Stabilize The Water, Further Repair Measures Are Now Planned In The Area Of The S14 Zellachen Bridge. In Addition To The Existing Barrier That Acts As A Threshold, Three More Thresholds Made Of Large River Stones Are To Be Built In The Stream Bed. These Are Intended To Reduce The Flow Energy And Promote Sediment Deposition Up To Approximately The Original Bed Depth. In Addition, Professional Repair Of The Scoured Areas Of The Sea Wall Below The Bridge On Both Sides Of The Bank Is Required. The Measures Are Approved Under Water Law. The Aim Is To Protect The Bridge Foundations By Preventing Further Washouts. The Benefit Is To Ensure The Long-Term Stability Of The Bridge And Thus Maintain Traffic Safety.
