Tenders are invited for Service Providers in Regional Support Program for Public Interest Media Closing Date: Wednesday, 15. Jul 2026 Intervention Sector(s): Communications & Media, Development Remuneration range: > 6000 (USD) Duration of Contract: 3 months DW Akademie is seeking experienced service providers (individuals or organizations) to support a regional program designed to strengthen the economic sustainability and resilience of public-interest media organizations in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. Funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the program aims to enhance quality journalism by fostering innovative newsroom structures, stronger audience engagement, and sustainable business models. About the Assignment Selected service providers will work closely with 23 public-interest media organizations (PIMs) over a period of approximately three months (up to 20 working days in total). They will provide tailored coaching, mentoring, training, and consultancy support to address the specific needs of participating media organizations. Areas of Expertise Applicants should demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following acceleration tracks: Journalistic and content quality, including trauma-informed journalism Audience and business development Organizational development AI-supported newsroom optimization Scope of Work Service providers will: Design and deliver customized coaching and training sessions; Support the implementation of organizational and editorial improvements; Contribute to learning documentation, monitoring, and reporting. Expected Deliverables Tailored training and coaching plans; Organizational roadmaps and implementation timelines; Delivery of workshops, mentoring, and coaching activities; In-country engagement with media partners; A final report including baseline-endline results, lessons learned, and recommendations. Assignment Period and Location Assignments are expected to take place physically between September and December 2026, primarily at the locations of participating media partners or as otherwise agreed. Eligibility Criteria Applicants should possess: A university degree in journalism, communications, or a related field; Proven expertise in the thematic areas outlined above; Experience working with media organizations, preferably in the Middle East; Strong facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching skills; A solid understanding of media viability, newsroom dynamics, public-interest journalism, and crisis contexts; Excellent communication and intercultural skills; Fluency in Arabic.
