Construction Work - Request For Participation: Itäkeskus Elementary School, Life Cycle Project. The Project Concerns The Itäkeskus Primary School To Be Built In Helsinki. The Project Is Implemented As A Life Cycle Project. The New Premises Are To Be Designed For 700 Students Of A Unified Elementary School. The Areas Schools Are Intended To Form An Attractive Entity That Serves The Developing Itäkeskus Area. The School Provides Basic Education For Grades 1-9, Preparatory Education For Grades 7-9, Inclusive Preparatory Education And Class-Based Special Education. The School Has Language-Enriched Finnish-English Teaching For All Students In Grades 1-4. About 62% Of The Schools Students Speak A Foreign Language And About 34% Are Students With Special Needs. The School Will Also Have Facilities Suitable For The Basic Education Of Toi, Poy And Eau Special Learners. The Project Includes A Large Sports Hall (902 M²), Which Will Be Built On The School Premises In Cooperation With The Culture And Leisure Sector. Itäkeskus Elementary School Has An Emphasis On Sports From The 7Th Grade. The Facilities Are Designed To Be Barrier-Free And Suitable For All Learners, A Learning Environment That Supports The Childs Growth And Development. In Addition To The Staff, Children, Young People And Families Are Involved In The Planning Of The Activities. The Facilities Support The Increase Of Community And Resident Use In The Area. In The Project, Pedagogically Versatile And Purposefully Dimensioned Spaces Are Implemented For Basic Education, Which Promote Activities And Guarantee Learners A Good Environment To Learn And Grow. The Spaces Are Designed According To City-Level Dimensioning Principles And Design Guidelines And They Enable The Implementation Of The Goals Of The Basic Education Curriculum And The Learning Support Model. The Yard Areas Are Equipped With Play Equipment To Promote Physical Activity And The Goals Of The Curricula, And Their Planning And Equipment Take Into Account Safety, Controllability, Community Spirit, Physical Activity And The Versatile Use Of The Yard As A Learning And Playing Space. The Daycare Located On The Same Plot Is Open 24 Hours A Day. This Will Pose Challenges To The Project Both In Terms Of Noise, Dust And Logistics Management Of Demolition And New Implementation. In Practice, This Means That Special Arrangements Have To Be Made At The Site In Connection With Demolitions And Earthworks. There Are Existing Buildings On The Plot For Which A Demolition Permit Is Being Applied For. It Is Possible That A Demolition Permit Will Not Be Obtained For All Buildings (Especially Part A) And They Will Have To Be Taken As Part Of The Whole As Repaired. The Life-Cycle Responsibility For Preserved Structures Remains With The City. The Planning And Implementation Of The Project Is Guided By The Ecologically Sustainable Construction Goals Set For The Citys Service Construction Projects, Which Aim For Long-Lasting, Low-Carbon Construction That Takes Into Account The Circular Economy Perspective And The Sites Natural Values, Energy-Efficient Construction That Utilizes Renewable Energy Sources.
