Kinn Municipality Will Carry Out Repairs To The Roof At Skavøypoll School. The Purpose Of The Acquisition Is To Secure The Building Against Further Moisture Penetration And To Establish A Lasting, Complete And Technically Sound Roof Construction, To Adapt The Existing Building Stock And Further Operation Of The School. The Work Mainly Includes Demolition, Repair And Re-Establishment Of Existing Slate Roofs. The Existing Roof Is An Uninsulated Pitched Rafter Roof With Roof Boards, Canvas, Laths And Slate Roofing. Rafters And Underlying Brick Reconstruction Must Initially Remain, While Damaged Roof Boards Must Be Replaced After Closer Assessment During Execution. It Is Estimated That Around 10% Of The Roof Boards Will Need To Be Replaced. The Existing Battens And Fabric Must Be Demolished In Their Entirety, And A New Under-Ceiling Covering Must Be Established, The Roof Structure Ventilated With Loops And Battens, As Well As New And Repaired Slate Roofing.
