Jul 2026 Intervention Sector(s): Rehabilitation Islamic Relief Lebanon intends to respond to the urgent needs of conflict-affected communities in Bekaa, South Lebanon, by focusing on the restoration of critical public infrastructure and facilities with focus on water and sanitation services. This project will directly benefit vulnerable host communities and refugees by providing them with reliable access to safe water and improved public infrastructures and facilities. Under this project, IRL intends to conduct the rehabilitation, and partial replacement works for the 16 km LucyRashaya main transmission line. Given the advanced age and vulnerability of the current steel pipeline, the intervention entails localized repairs on several segments and full replacement of highly deteriorated sections. Where replacement is required, new Ductile Iron (DI) pipelines will be installed, strictly maintaining the hydraulic capacity and dimensions of the original network. The scope is divided across three distinct diameter segments: the initial 2,600 meters consists of a 12-inch pipeline; the subsequent 9,000 meters consists of a 10-inch pipeline; and the final 5,000-meter stretch consists of an 8-inch pipeline. The contractor shall execute the works, including excavation, pipe laying, jointing, pressure testing, and backfilling, as specified in the subsequent items.
