The City Of Bern And Ewb Have Set Themselves The Goal Of Obtaining 70% Of Their Heat Needs And 80% Of Their Electricity Needs From Renewable Sources By 2035. By Expanding The District Heating Network In Bern And Thereby Replacing Oil And Gas Heating Systems, Ewb Is Making A Major Contribution To Achieving This Goal. Under The Project Name “Fernwärme Bern Nordost” (Fbn), Ewb Is Planning To Implement A New Thermal Network (District Heating) In The Northeast Of The City Of Bern. A Smaller District Heating Network Independent Of Fbn Is Also Being Built In The Wabern Area. The First Customers On The Fbn Network Are Scheduled To Be Connected From 2031, And The Expansion Will Take Place In Stages. At The Same Time As The Expansion Of District Heating (Including Network Connections), Other Media From Ewb (Water, Electricity, Telecommunications, Public Lighting, Etc.) Are Being Renovated Within The Project Perimeter. The Overall Management, With A Background In Civil Engineering, Should Take On The Role Of Construction Management During Implementation. The Planning Team To Be Commissioned Should Cover The Following Specialist Areas: District Heating, Electricity, Gas, Telecommunications, Water, Street Drainage/Urban Drainage Including Water Protection, Road Construction And Sponge City Elements.
