This Assignment Concerns The Construction Of A Dike With An Integrated Weir Construction On The Lange Eind In The Groot Rietveld In Kallo. The Area Is A Remnant Of The Former Melselepolder, Which Was Largely Reclaimed During The Development Of The Port. The Area Spontaneously Evolved Into An Immense Reed Field And Forms A Permanent Nature Compensation Area For The Historical Passive. The Groot Rietveld, Together With Rietveld Kallo In The West, Is A Type 4 Nature Reserve. The Area Consists Of A Northern And Southern Compartment Separated By Dike Bodies. These Ponds Drain Via Two Drainage Structures To A Parallel Canal Het Lange Eind. In Order To Buffer More Water In The Lange Eind (And To Better Control The Water Level In Both Compartments), A Weir Construction With A Dike Must Be Constructed Just Upstream Of The Railway.
