Mackenzie & District Hospital Is An Acute Care Facility Serving The Community Of Mackenzie And Surrounding Areas, With A Reliance On Emergency Power To Support Critical Clinical And Life‑Safety Systems. The Hospital’S Existing Emergency Generator And Automatic Transfer Switch Are Nearing End Of Service Life And Require Replacement To Maintain Reliable Operations. This Project Will Replace The Existing Emergency Generator System With A Modern, Code‑Compliant Solution, Including Upgrades To Associated Electrical And Fuel Storage Components. Temporary Emergency Power Will Be Provided During Installation To Ensure Uninterrupted Hospital Operations. The Project’S Objective Is To Maintain A Safe And Reliable Emergency Power Supply That Supports Ongoing Patient Care. Review The Existing Emergency Power System, Including The Generator Room, Electrical Rooms, And Associated Infrastructure. Assess The Condition, Capacity, And Configuration Of The Existing Emergency Generator, Automatic Transfer Switches (Ats), And Fuel Storage System. Confirm Emergency Power Capacity And Performance Requirements Based On Current Codes, Healthcare Facility Standards, And Critical Load Demands. Develop Engineering Design Documents For Replacement Of The Existing Emergency Generator System With A Nominal 150 Kw Diesel Unit. Prepare Design For Upgrades To The Automatic Transfer Switch Systems To Accommodate Current And Future Emergency Electrical Loads. Develop Design Criteria And Layout For Replacement Of The Diesel Fuel Storage System, Including Integration With The Generator And Regulatory Compliance Considerations. Evaluate Requirements For Temporary Emergency Power To Maintain Uninterrupted Service To Critical Hospital Systems During Construction And Changeover. Prepare Coordinated Electrical And Mechanical Design Drawings And Specifications Suitable For Construction Procurement. Identify Structural, Architectural, And Spatial Considerations Associated With Generator, Ats, And Fuel System Upgrades. Identify Power Distribution, Grounding, And System Coordination Requirements Associated With The Upgraded Emergency Power System. Define Testing, Verification, And Commissioning Requirements To Validate System Performance, Reliability, And Compliance. Provide Construction-Phase Engineering Support, System Commissioning Oversight, And Record Documentation Requirements.
