Project Overviewthe Intent Of This Project Is To Provide Project Engineering And Technical Services To Support The Operations And Maintenance Program Of Water Infrastructure And Operations Branch (Wiob) - Southern Operations (So).Wiob Relies On The Advice And Technical Services Provided By Subject Matter Experts For The Completion Of Non-Capital Maintenance Projects. This Contract Seeks To Have In Place A Consultant Which Can Fill The Roles Required For Assessment, Design, Site Inspection And Quality Assurance & Control For Various Projects Completed Via The Operational Maintenance Program.Backgroundwiob Is Responsible For The Operation And Maintenance Of Provincially Owned Water Management Infrastructure. This Infrastructure Provides A Secure Water Supply For Irrigation Districts, Industrial And Commercial Users, Municipalities, And Individuals. The Water Management Infrastructure Operated And Maintained By Wiob Includes River Diversion Structures, Dams, Reservoirs, And Canal Systems For Water Storage And Conveyance, As Well As Supply To Downstream End Users. These Infrastructure Systems Contain Flow Control Components Including Earthen Dams And Embankments, Gates, Weirs, Spillways, Check And Turnout Structures, Diversions, Drainage Structures As Well As Numerous Associated Mechanical And Electrical Components. This Infrastructure Is Supported By Seepage Collection, Active Monitoring, And Instrumentation Networks Integral To The System. Wiob Infrastructure Was Constructed As Early As The 1920’S, With Major Capital Additions In Subsequent Years. Some Infrastructure Components Have Had Significant Upgrades In Recent Years, And Some Have Remained Relatively Unchanged For A Long Period Of Time.Wiob Infrastructure Relevant To This Rfp Is Located In The Oldman Basin, And The Majority Of The Infrastructure Forms Part Of The Following Systems And Project Areas: •Waterton-St. Mary Headworks System•Oldman River Dam Project•Lethbridge Northern Headworks System•Mountain View Leavitt Aetna Headworks System•Cypress Hills Area Projects•Willow Creek Area Projectsin Addition To The Systems Listed Above, Other Non Listed Minor Structures Owned And Operated By Wiob In The Oldman And Cypress Hills Basins May Be Included In The Work. Project Objectivesthe Contract Objective Is To Engage A Consulting Engineering Firm To Provide Services Which Will Find Solutions, Conduct Tasks Oversee Construction For Managing Identified Deficiencies Related To Wiob Non-Operational Maintenance. Properly Addressing Deficiencies Identified By Wiob Personnel Often Requires Detailed Engineering Investigations, Analysis, Design, Construction Oversight And Reporting To Support Non-Capital Maintenance. For The Purposes Of This Work, The Contractor Will Provide Services To Wiob - So, Centred In Lethbridge, Alberta, The Project Manager For The Contract Will Be Located In Lethbridge, Alberta.This Contract Will Enable Wiob To Engage A Multi-Disciplinary Consulting Engineering Firm To Perform Various Assignment Based Project Work. This Work Can Be Categorized As:•Inspection And Assessment•Environmental Assessments•Design And Analysis•Reporting And Recommendations•Construction Supervision•Quality Assurance & Control •Surveys•Post Construction Records
