The Existing Bridge Was Built About Ten Years Ago And Has A Wooden Deck That Is Now Showing Significant Signs Of Wear. Some Of The Floorboards Are Broken Or Loose, Which Poses A Significant Risk Of Accidents, Especially When There Is A Lot Of Public Traffic At The Hrb Emscher Auen. The Plan Is To Completely Remove The Old Wooden Planks For Repairs. The Plan Is Then To Install A Substructure In Order To Maintain The Existing Height, Followed By A New Covering Made Of Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (Grp). A Grp Covering Has A Lifespan Of Around 50 To 80 Years And Is Therefore Significantly More Durable Than Wood.
