Following A Successful Structural Design Competition, The New Euregio Office Building, An Architecturally And Structurally Demanding Project, Is To Be Realized At The German-Dutch Border Crossing In Gronau. The Urban Reorganization Of The Site Envisages An Ensemble Of Several Buildings Grouped Around A Newly Created Euregio Square. As A Three-Story Building, The New Office Forms The Striking Start Of The Campus And Is In The Immediate Vicinity Of The Euregio Conference Center. The Winning Design Envisages A Hybrid Construction Made Of Solid And Wooden Construction, Which Is Impressive In Terms Of Design, Building Physics And Ecology: Solid Building Cores Made Of Exposed Concrete Provide The Bracing And At The Same Time Provide Storage Mass For The Thermal Concept. These Cores Include Vertical Circulation, Sanitary Areas As Well As Technical And Ancillary Rooms. The Adjacent Office Areas Are Designed In A Largely Column-Free Wooden Construction With A High Degree Of Prefabrication. The Ceilings Span From The Solid Cores To The Load-Bearing Outer Wall, Ensuring A High Level Of Flexibility In Use.
