The Ministry Of Forests, Selkirk Natural Resource District, Is Seeking A Qualified Contractor To Provide Aerial Fertilization By Helicopter Of An Estimated 4500 Hectares, Using An Application Rate Of 435 Kilograms Per Hectare Of Urea Fertilizer With Urease Inhibitor. Note: Application Rate And Weight Will Remain The Same. The Treatment Units Are Located Within The Selkirk Natural Resource District, Mainly In The Kootenay Lake Tsa, West Of Creston And South Of Highway 3. The Areas Prescribed For Fertilization Were Developed In 2025 And The Contract Will Be Monitored By An Implementation Contractor.The Contractor Will Review Selected Sites And Prepare Helicopter Landing, Servicing And Staging Areas Prior To The Application Of Fertilizer. Minor Road Improvements Are The Responsibility Of The Successful Bidder. Improvements To The Staging Sites And Access Roads May Require Minor Brushing And Cutting And Maintenance Of Waterbars.The Province Shall Arrange For The Supply Of Approximately 1,957,500 Kilograms Of Fertilizer At The Terralink Horticulture Ltd. Facility In Abbotsford, Bc. The Successful Contractor Shall Be Responsible For Transport Of Fertilizer From A Railway Siding Of Their Choosing To Staging Areas. The Contractor Will Need To Give At Least 6 Weeks’ Notice To Terralink Horticulture Ltd. For The Initial Order And 4 Weeks For All Subsequent Orders. The Cost Of Transportation To The Siding Is The Responsibility Of The Ministry. The Cost Of Transportation From The Siding To The Staging Area Is The Responsibility Of The Contractor.Further Details As To The Scope Of This Opportunity And The Requirements Can Be Found Within This Rfp.
