Architectural, Construction, Engineering And Inspection Services – Itäradan Maastomalli. The Task Of This Assignment Is To Produce A New Terrain Model For The Planned Track Alignment Of The Itärada. The Terrain Model Is Produced Using Measurement Methods According To The Guidelines To Be Followed. The Terrain Model Is An Important Part Of The Acquisition Of Initial Data For The Design Of The Itära Railway. The Content Of The Assignment Is Described In More Detail In The Tender Documents. Itärata Oys Task Is To Plan A Rail Connection Enabling High-Speed Train Traffic From Lentorada Via Porvoo To The Construction Phase In Kouvolaa. The Main Goals Of The Project Are To Enable Faster Long-Distance Train Traffic To Eastern Finland Than At Present: Along The Savo And Karelia Lines To Kuopio, Joensuu And Kainuuse, And To Connect The City Of Porvoo To The Rail Transport Network Of The Capital Region. 2 Million Finns In Seven Provinces Live In The Area Affected By The Eastern Railway. Itärata Performs Planning Together With Several Planning Partners, Municipalities And Cities And Other Stakeholders. The Planning Aims For The Construction Of The Track To Begin In The Early 2030S And For The Track To Be Completed By 2040. In July 2024, The Eastern Railway Was Approved For The Expanded European-Wide Transport Core Network (Ten-T). With The Decision, Itärata Oy Can Apply For Significant Eu Funding For The Planning Of The Railway Project. The Owners Of Itärata Oy Are The State Of Finland (51%) Represented By The Ministry Of Transport And Communications And 24 Municipalities Or Cities. Itärata Oy And Its Board Ensure Through Active Dialogue That The Owners, I.E. The State And The Municipalities, Have A Common Vision Of The Projects Goals And Progress. Other Stakeholders Of The Itärata Project Are, For Example, Municipalities, Authorities, Residents, Companies, Educational Institutions And Communities In The Project Area.
