Cartagena And Los Alcázares (Murcia).. The D-7 Drainage Channel, Executed By The Segura Hydrographic Confederation, O.A., Aims To Capture Surface Runoff Before It Enters The Urban Area Of ​​Los Alcázares, Intercepting These Waters And Directing Them To The Rambla Del Albujón. The Canal Has A Trapezoidal Section, A Length Of Approximately 4 Km And Is Built On Land, With The Left Side Protected By A Layer Of Breakwater. After Various Interventions To Improve And Expand Hydraulic Capacity, This Infrastructure Constitutes A Fundamental Element In The Defense System Against Floods In Campo De Cartagena And Around The Mar Menor. This Infrastructure Is Of Vital Importance To Alleviate And Divert The Flow Of Water Current That Is Caused By The Episodes Of Torrential Rains That Frequently Occur In The Months Of September And October, So That It Greatly Reduces Runoff To The Urban Area Of ​​Los Alcázares, A Municipality Seriously Affected By These Episodes.
