The Etzelwerk Power Plant, Built Between 1932 And 1937, Uses The Gradient Between Lake Sihl And Lake Zurich To Generate Energy And Produces Around 10% Of Switzerlands Traction Power Requirements. After The License Renewal In 2023, Sbb Is Now Carrying Out The Renewal And Replacement Of Parts Of The Etzelwerk Pumped Storage Power Plant As Part Of The “Etzelwerk Power Plant Renewal” Project. This Includes Replacing The Existing Covered Pressure Pipes Between The Moated Castle And The Machine House In Altendorf With An Armored Pressure Shaft Located Underground. The Subject Of This Tender Is The Creation Of The Starting Excavation Pit, From Which The New Pressure Shaft Will Be Excavated Between The Machine House And The Existing Moated Castle In Bilsten, The Material Management Of The Excavated Material From The Starting Excavation Pit And The Tunnel Excavation Material, As Well As The Dismantling And Backfilling Of The Starting Excavation Pit.
