This Section Of The Carlingford Lough Greenway, A 6.2Km Cross Border Amenity Opened In 2014, Has Experienced Significant Weather-Related Damage . Recent Storm Events And High Tides Have Caused: • Displacement Of Existing Rock Armour • Collapse Of Protective Fencing Into The Sea • Undermining Of The Greenway Tarmac Foundation Causing Displacement Of Fencing Also • Evidence Of Progressive Coastal Erosion At Multiple Points Over A 200M Section. The Damage Has Necessitated Closure Of The Greenway Entrance At The Marina, With Access Currently Terminating Approximately 100 Metres Before The Facility, Creating Considerable Economic Impact For Local Businesses Including The Marina And Cycle Hire Operators.
