The Khaakbrug In Oegstgeest Is The Last Historic Bridge Over The Haarlemmertrekvaart And Has Been Designated As A Municipal Monument Since 2021, Which Must Comply With The Monuments Act. The Khaakbrug Dates From 1782 And Has Been Restored Several Times Over The Years. In 2007, The Bridge Was Reinforced With A Steel Sheet Pile Wall At The Western Abutment. However, These Measures Could Not Prevent The Bridge From Being Closed To Cars And Trucks In 2011. A Thorough Renovation Is Necessary To Renew The Monumental Bridge So That The Current Requirements For Structural Safety Are Met. See Tender Guidelines And Appendices.
